Scars Adorn

Scars are healed wounds. Healed emotional or other wounds are the evidence of victories, not failures. Scars adorn us, they don’t mar us. They are an evidence of authority and perfecting, not imperfection. No one seeks to be wounded, however a life valiantly lived in Christ, guarantees them.

In the beauty of holiness … the beautification of scars that evidence our perfecting.

“From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.”

Galatians 6:17

“The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.”

Proverbs 20:30

“But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

Do you know the Greek word for wound is ‘trauma’. Did you know that the word ‘stripe’ in the above Proverbs and Isaiah texts is ‘chabburah’ (Strongs 2250) which means ‘blow’ and is based on this interesting word “chabar’ (Strongs 2266) which means “to unite, be joined, to tie a magic knot or spell, to charm”.

Quite incredibly, through the cleansing stripes we may endure, we become united, joined or ‘magically knotted’ to the Lord who helps us through every pain or suffering experience … tied together by the charm of a stripe, a wound. Are you ‘magically knotted’ to the Lord Jesus?
