Season of the Knee II – Kneeling in Refuge Posture COVID-19

Season of the Knee II

What is the relevant posture we should take at this time of wave upon wave of bad news?

Last year August I posted here that the “Season of the Knee” is upon us and now more than ever this is relevant for me. From a position on your knees, you are protected, your face downward but looking upward, where Christ is.

There are times we need to posture ourselves to be carried by the wind, like when a yachtsman trims the sails, but this is not such a time. Like the famous quote “The only thing we need to fear is fear itself”, I think the consequences of unbridled fear and greed has been the carnal man’s Achilles Heel over the centuries. May it not be so with you kneeling saint!

I feel it is pointless to resist this wind. Let us do cry out for mercy. Let us kneel before the Father and assume the “refuge posture” and find the stillness of Heaven from Heaven, on our knees. Then we will emerge free of the worst form of pestilence – fear induced panic.

Psalm 91:1-10
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler,
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers.
Under his wings you will take refuge.
His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day,
nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
and ten thousand at your right hand;
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes,
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made Yahweh your refuge,
and the Most High your dwelling place,
no evil shall happen to you,
neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.
